Pimhill Farm grows the most fantastic organic porridge oats, which are cut and then rolled into delicious, creamy porridge oats. These organic porridge oats are perfect for those mid-winter bowls of porridge when you need energy for the day and a warm, comforting start!
The key difference between jumbo and porridge oats is that jumbo oats are made from whole oat groats that are rolled into large, thick flakes, giving them a chewier texture and a nuttier flavour. In contrast, porridge oats are more finely milled or rolled thinner, allowing them to absorb liquid faster and create a smoother, creamier consistency.
We've found that if you want to make flapjacks with less syrup, porridge oats work better than jumbo oats, as Pimhill’s organic porridge oats hold together more effectively. To further reduce the syrup needed, you can add some desiccated coconut to the mix.

Pimhill Farm truly has the history to back up its commitment to organic farming. Going Organic in 1948, when the pressure to use sprays and artificial fertilisers was huge, they went against the trends due to their belief that soil health was far more important than the advice that authorities were giving at the time. Pimhill Farm are truly committed to growing organic oats, they always have been and always will be.
