This incredible organic extra virgin olive oil is made using the Carolea and Ottobratica varieties of olives. Both of these varieties of olives are native to Calabria in Italy, where they are cold pressed solely by mechanical means, quickly after being hand-picked. Carolea olives give a mild, fruity taste, whilst the Ottobratica have a more intense flavour with a herby flavour profile; together, they create this high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
Whilst it may be difficult to taste the difference between an organic olive oil and a non-organic oil, there will be the health benefits when consuming an organic olive oil. Chemicals such as Dimethoate and Glyphosate can be used in a non-organic olive farm to reduce pests and thus increase the yields and make it more profitable. Both of these pesticides are linked to cancer, nervous system damage, and an unhealthy gut, so by buying an organic olive oil, you can guarantee you are avoiding these chemicals and the negative health connotations those chemicals cause.
Organic olive oil has many health benefits, so it can be good for you when consumed in moderation. The majority of the fats in olive oil are mono-saturated fatty acids, which increases levels of good cholesterol, and in turn reduces the risk of heart disease and having a stroke.
This organic Italian olive oil is particularly good to drizzle over a salad, some freshly cooked new potatoes, or even a delicious hand-stretched pizza.

About the Producer
Entore organic olive oil was set up by Pietro Pollizzi. He was left an abandoned olive grove by his father and set about rebuilding it using organic principles. Immediately wanting to focus on the very best olive oil he converted the land to organic status and took great care of his olive trees. The farm is hilly, with the trees growing on steep slops, and this makes it a necessity to pick the olives using a comb rather than with a machine, this helps preserve the integrity of the tree.
