At Ruxstons, we proudly serve Coast and Moor Coffee in our café, and the decaf option is no exception when it comes to quality and flavour. We see firsthand how many of our customers turn to this as their go-to coffee, enjoying the same exceptional taste as the caffeinated range, but without the buzz.
These 100% Arabica beans undergo a light-to-medium roast, ensuring a smooth, well-balanced cup that retains the bean’s natural fruitiness while avoiding the bitter or burnt notes that can develop in a darker roast. The Retreat Decaf blend brings out tasting notes of blackcurrant, cocoa, and brown sugar, offering a mellow yet flavour-packed experience.
Arabica coffee is prized for its clean, complex flavours, thanks to its slow growth at high altitudes. Unlike Robusta beans, which are often used in instant or lower-quality coffee, Arabica has a more refined profile, with a natural sweetness and smooth acidity that make it ideal for a decaffeinated brew.
What sets this decaf coffee apart is the natural sugar cane decaffeination process. This method, also known as the Ethyl Acetate (EA) Process, uses naturally occurring compounds from sugar cane to gently remove caffeine while preserving the coffee’s delicate flavours. Unlike some decaffeination methods that rely on harsh chemicals or high-pressure water, the sugar cane process is gentler and retains more of the bean’s original character. The result? A full-bodied decaf coffee that still delivers the rich, complex taste you’d expect from a premium Arabica bean.
The Explore Decaf blend is made with carefully sourced Colombian-origin beans, known for their bright acidity, caramel sweetness, and chocolate undertones. Whether brewed as an espresso, French press, or filter coffee, this decaf delivers a satisfying and flavourful cup—without compromise.
